Social Impact Lab 2018

On 25th of September 2018 the finalists, ten start-ups and three scale-ups, have pitched their business plans and show the potential social impact of their idea on the world.

The jury announced three start-ups and one scale-up as the winners of Social Impact Lab 2018! The winners have received a money prize, two years of support from PwC and the possibility to make use of PwC’s office facilities. In addition, an audience prize has been awarded.

Social Impact Lab is a challenge for start-ups and scale-ups with a social mission. We help them to take their social enterprises to the next level and increase their social impact in order to strengthen social entrepreneurship in Europe.

Just like last year the challenge is international. Not only participants from the Netherlands, but also from Germany, Austria and Turkey can subscribe. The winners of the challenge will receive a money prize, two years of coaching by PwC and the possibility to make use of PwC’s office facilities.

Social Impact Lab 2018 is over. Next year you can apply for the Social Impact lab 2019.

This year the Social Impact Lab offered a track for both start-ups and scale-ups. Please find the definitions below.

Definition social start-up:

  • Your enterprise fits the criteria of a social enterprise
  • Your social enterprise is active for less the 3 years since market launch
  • Your social enterprise is registered at the Chamber of Commerce

Definition social scale-up:

  • You fit the criteria of a social enterprise
  • Your social enterprise has a proven concept and the ambition to scale
  • Your social enterprise has an average annualized return of at least 20% in the past 3 years
