Social Impact Lab 2019

The sixth edition of the Social Impact Lab has started! The registration for this year has now been closed. From the more than 120 applications, a selection will be made of social enterprises that will continue to the next round. They can hand in their business plan to us and have a chance on a place in the final.

Winners receive the grand prize: an amount of 5,000 (start-ups) or 10,000 (scale-ups) euros, two years of intensive coaching and advice from PwC, and use of our office facilities.

The Social Impact Lab is a competition in which we help start-ups and scale-ups with a social mission a step further. Already during the challenge we guide you in the field of networking, financial advice and your business plan. In this way you bring your social enterprise to a higher level, even if you do not end up in the final.

This year the challenge is also international, which means that participants from Germany, Austria and Turkey can also register.

The final took place on 25 September 2018, where ten start-ups and three scale-ups pitched their business plans in front of a jury. In the end, three start-ups and a scale-up were named the winners of Social Impact Lab 2018. We are happy to present you the finalists of the Social Impact Lab finals 2018.

This year the Social Impact Lab offered a track for both start-ups and scale-ups. Please find the definitions below.

Definition social start-up:

  • Your enterprise fits the criteria of a social enterprise
  • Your social enterprise is active for less the 3 years since market launch
  • Your social enterprise is registered at the Chamber of Commerce

Definition social scale-up:

  • You fit the criteria of a social enterprise
  • Your social enterprise has a proven concept and the ambition to scale
  • Your social enterprise has an average annualized return of at least 20% in the past 3 years
