Overview curriculum

This curriculum covers the Sustainable Finance Regulations for the insurance sector and explains how:

  • the EU taxonomy and future additions should be applied;
  • the reporting requirements of the CSRD as well as the SFDR and the objectives of the IDD.

The curriculum has five expert level e-learnings that deep dives into each regulation and is recommended to employees whose core daily activities will be affected by these regulations.The e-learnings are in English.

Sustainable Finance Regulations for Insurance consists of the following e-learnings: 

  • E1: EU Taxonomy for Insurers
  • E5: CSRD for Insurers 
  • E6A + E6B: SFDR for Banks and Insurers
  • E7: IDD’s delegated act on sustainability for Insurers

The e-learnings can be delivered (as curriculum or individual modules) inhouse to organizations and/or teams. Organizations can choose to purchase the SCORM file or to use Pay per Registration. Please contact us via the contact button. This curriculum is also available in our webshop.

E1: EU-taxonomy for Insurers

The module "EU taxonomy" provides an overview of the six environmental objectives of the EU taxonomy and their implications for businesses. The course delves into the technical screening criteria framework, the Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) principle, and the minimum social safeguards for the E component. Additionally, the module covers the outlook for the S and G components of the EU taxonomy.

E5: CSRD for Insurers

The module “Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)” explains the build up of the CSRD and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). It explains the purpose and objectives of the CSRD and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Participants learn about the materiality assessment, cross-cutting standards, and industry-agnostic standards, as well as the implementation efforts required. This module also addresses the distinction between governance/ESG ambition/impact, risks and opportunities, and metrics and targets, as well as the mandatory disclosures that are always applicable.

E6A + E6B: SFDR for Banks and Insurers

The modules “Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR)” give an in-depth look into the SFDR, the Regulatory Technical Standard (RTS) and how the respective requirements establish disclosure obligations related to sustainability. They describe entity level requirements and explain the three categories of disclosures for financial products.

Duration E6A: 30 minuten

Duration E6B: 40 minuten

E7: IDD's delegated act on sustainability for Insurers

In this e-learning module we will dive into the requirements of the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) delegated act on sustainability. Since the implementation of this delegated act, sustainability factors need to be included in (insurance) product oversight and governance, conflicts of interest and suitability assessment of IBIPs.

The Sustainable Finance Regulations for Insurance curriculum is suitable for all learners who would like to increase their ESG and Sustainable Finance Regulations for Insurance knowledge. 

Our ESG e-learning modules allow learners across the globe to learn at their own pace. Our interactive elements throughout the modules encourage learners to engage with the content. Knowledge checks at the end of each chapter stimulate learners to think actively about the topics explained and make the knowledge stick.
