Legal Department Design & Optimisation

Legal functions are under increasing pressure to demonstrate timely, relevant and economical services to their internal clients. These pressures are driving considerable investment in strategic cost reduction and value improvement.

We help legal departments get to their most efficient destinations through a unified approach to legal operations, consulting, transformation and integration. We assess and benchmark large in-house legal teams to identify and execute opportunities to improve their operating models, leverage automation and legal technologies, and deliver significant cost savings.

The benefits of legal transformation are clear: improved quality, consistency, effectiveness and speed of legal support to the business. When these things fall into place, lawyers can focus on more rewarding, higher-value work.

Legal Maturity Assessment

Work smarter, not harder. With the Legal Maturity Assessment, you get a quick scan of the current state of your legal department and how to get to the desired future-proof state.

Our Legal Maturity Assessment approach is an easy-to-understand methodology that will be used to help your organisation to define the strategic direction of your legal function and communicate this to the relevant stakeholders. It will clearly highlight how to change or upgrade your legal function to minimise risk whilst maximising efficiency and opportunities. When conducting a Legal Maturity Assessment, we will consider your organisation as a whole and not just the legal function or those with specific legal responsibility, in isolation.

How does it work?

We reference five maturity levels to show the extent to which an organisation exercises legal control and use benchmarks to define how your organization compares to your peers or competition. The gap between your current level and ambition level based on a benchmark gives a direct insight into the improvements required. The output is specifically designed to highlight strengths and weaknesses; to identify and support the requirement for change or improvements within the legal function; and minimise risk whilst maximising efficiency and opportunities.
