Make an impact as a head of internal audit

The Internal Audit Summer School offers both emerging and experienced heads of internal audit a unique opportunity to expand their network and develop their skills. Jan Driessen, partner at PwC's Internal Audit Services, leads the training sessions and is the day chair along with his colleague Anoep Singh. The sessions are conducted by experienced PwC trainers, each with deep expertise in their field.

Jan Driessen and Anoep Singh delve into the 'State of the Internal Audit', highlighting the following aspects:

• Insights from the Global Internal Audit Survey (GIAS) and their relevance

• Identification of current trends, opportunities, and challenges within the audit landscape

Barbara Baarsma, chief economist at PwC Netherlands, discusses economic developments, focusing on:

• Impact of macroeconomic developments on the Netherlands

• Impact on internal audit

During Bram van Tiel's session, you will learn about cybersecurity:

• Developments in cybersecurity (DORA, NIS2)

• Impact of cybersecurity on internal audit

We will also cover the topic of 'human capital audits', with an emphasis on:

• How to audit human capital as an organisation?

• How to manage human capital and team building as a head of internal audit?

A highlight of the programme is the Copilot Escape Room, where you will learn about:

• The impact of AI on internal audit

• Where AI adds value in the internal audit process 

• You will also work with AI and Copilot in this session

Finally, there is a panel discussion focused on sharing experiences, insights, and expectations regarding internal audit and leadership. Topics include the profile of internal audit, the expectations of an audit committee, and the role of the internal audit function within an organisation in transition.
