Chris Winkelman

Chris Winkelman

Partner, PwC Netherlands

I advise clients about tax strategy, effective tax rate planning, international trade, pre/post deal structuring and their BEPS-related efforts.

I have gained experience with acquisition structuring, project financing, quoted debt, post-merger integration, leasing of assets and related issues concerning optimal asset deployment. I have also conducted negotiations with the Dutch authorities (e.g. ATR's and APA's), supervised tax audits and established Joint Ventures.

'As a tax adviser in the Energy Industry, I find my job invigorating and intellectually challenging. Particularly at the moment, because gas, oil, electricity, nuclear and renewables are all undergoing major changes on the back of key issues like pricing and energy security. All (trans)actions, reorganisations and innovations resulting from these developments offer ample opportunities for tax experts. Furthermore, the on-going global debate about paying taxes and new rules and regulations, makes me believe there has never been a more exciting time to work in the Energy Industry.'
