Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)
Screening In the context of protecting strategic interests and national security, EU Member States are subjecting foreign investments to increasing scrutiny. The increasing regulation of foreign investments requires careful legal guidance. PwC Legal advises investors and target companies on the application of the Security Screening of Investments, Mergers and Acquisitions Act (Wet vifo). We assess whether proposed investments or acquisitions are subject to notification requirements, guide the notification process with the Investment Screening Bureau (BTI) and advise on structuring transactions to minimise the risk of intervention. We also assist with objection and appeal proceedings if an investment encounters objections.
