Hanane Akandouch

What does The New Equation mean to you personally?

‘For me, it means joining forces with all the other disciplines within the organisation. Pulling together to help clients on a sustainable basis with all the challenges they face.’

‘The most challenging part of my job is the complex tax-related legislation for companies. If I manage to articulate this clearly to my clients and help them progress, my mission is accomplished.’

What struck you during your early days at PwC?

‘There is a positive and relaxed vibe in the workplace. During my student days, I often heard that companies like PwC are hierarchical. I haven't really noticed that so far.’

What’s your average working day like?

‘Every working day is different. My focus is on taxation in relation to real estate. One day I am training new colleagues, the next I look at the financial and tax figures with the client and how they should be structured.’

What makes your work enjoyable?

‘The complex tax-related legislation for companies. If I manage to articulate this clearly to my clients and help them progress, my mission is accomplished. Furthermore, I sense that at PwC, you are rapidly in charge of your own career path and the choices you make.’

What is your team like?

‘My team is very diverse with an open culture. We are a close-knit group and enjoy socialising, such as the occasional bite to eat. I find that a good working atmosphere is crucial, not only for the team, but also for your own well-being.’

‘I greatly enjoy travelling; a road trip to the Great Ocean Road with my family is at the top of the list.’

What is the work-life balance like at PwC?

‘As the mother of a young daughter, flexibility is really crucial to me. Fortunately, there are a lot of possibilities at PwC. You can easily discuss here what works best for you and your colleagues.’

What would you say to your future colleagues?

‘Above all, be yourself and opt for what suits you best. If you need help in doing so, we will of course be there for you!’
