This group focuses on VAT issues for cross-border goods and services transactions. Your clients will mainly be major internationally operating businesses within a variety of market segments. You will also be involved in large international merger and takeover processes, for which you will work together with colleagues in other tax disciplines.
Within the Financial Services (FS) department, you will focus on clients in the financial sector such as pension funds, insurers and banks. Many of these clients perform VAT-exempt services, and by adopting a critical approach to the pro rata calculation, you can demonstrably realise substantial profits for these clients.
Within the Private Companies & Public Sector department, you will assist public, semi-public and other institutions with VAT issues that they encounter. These clients will include municipalities, provinces and other government bodies in addition to hospitals and charitable foundations.
Real Estate professionals focus on the VAT issues relating to the sale, rental, commercial operation and construction of property. Your day-to-day responsibility also involve aspects of transfer tax.
The Technology Process and Controls team is all about the interplay between VAT and technology. You will optimise technological systems and processes relating to VAT. You will also analyse vast quantities of data and carry out random checks to ensure that your clients are compliant with VAT law. You will also help to set up tax control frameworks.
Within the Customs and International Trade department, you will advise renowned national and international clients in various sectors on issues relating to customs and excise legislation. You will work in a team together with both young and experienced colleagues operating in Rotterdam and Eindhoven. The client portfolio is extremely diverse and includes large multinationals in the food, drinks, tobacco, electronics and textile sectors. You will closely collaborate with colleagues in the Indirect Tax department, both nationally and internationally via the network of PwC offices.
