Why did you choose the Edge traineeship at PwC?

I was really impressed by the attention that PwC pays to development and support during a traineeship. PwC organizes numerous onboarding events, training, and coaching sessions, which indicates that PwC is truly willing to invest in the growth of its trainees. Additionally, the duration of the traineeship appealed to me, only one and a half years. This is relatively short compared to other traineeships, which allows me to quickly gain experience and progress within PwC.

Why did you choose the rotation track within Edge?

I chose the rotation track because I see it as a fantastic opportunity to explore different departments within Deals. My program started in Debt & Capital Advisory, and for my second and third rotations, I will be starting in Financial Due Diligence and Corporate Finance; M&A. This helps me determine which department aligns best with my personal interests and skills. Additionally, it offers the opportunity to develop diverse skills and build a valuable network within Deals.

You started in the Debt & Capital Advisory (DCA) department; what does your team look like?

My team at DCA consists of fifteen colleagues, which creates a close-knit and friendly atmosphere. The fact that we are a small team means that I know everyone well and work closely with them. This makes me feel truly at home in our team. The small size also means that I have a lot of responsibility and am directly involved in projects.

And what does your work involve?

My tasks and responsibilities are very diverse and vary daily, but mainly involve working on commercial materials such as teasers or management presentations, modeling, and process management. It is a varied job package and no day is the same. For example, one day I may be working on creating a financial model, while the next day I may be involved in creating commercial materials or have direct contact with clients. The variety and challenge ensure that I am constantly developing and improving my skills in different areas.

How was it to start at PwC?

Thanks to the support I received, I was able to quickly find my way at PwC. Within my department, I was paired with a buddy whom I could always ask questions to, and my entire team was always ready to help. To assist us with onboarding, various events were organized, such as the trip to Madrid. During this trip, we learned more about the different departments within Deals. My own department also organized training sessions, which allowed me to quickly get up to speed and make my contribution.

Do you also do activities together outside of working hours?

In addition to work, various social and sports activities are organized with fellow trainees and colleagues, such as the Christmas party, the ski trip, and various dinners and drinks. I am looking forward to these occasions, which not only provide an opportunity to get to know colleagues better, but also to exchange experiences with fellow trainees.

What do you expect to learn in this traineeship?

I expect to strengthen my collaboration skills in diverse teams with international backgrounds. I also see opportunities to expand my technical skills and gain valuable knowledge in different sectors. Additionally, PwC has a feedback culture where everyone is encouraged to maximize their strengths regularly during work. The regular feedback sessions within my project team motivate me to keep learning continuously.

What would you like to say to future colleagues and why would you recommend working at PwC?

To future colleagues, I would like to say that working at PwC not only offers a great professional opportunity, but also has a rich social aspect. With extensive training and support, PwC creates a positive and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration. You will be part of a community where team building, networking opportunities, and social events such as dinners, drinks, and team outings are regularly organized. In this environment, you will not only grow professionally, but also build valuable relationships with colleagues.
