How did you end up at PwC and what exactly do you do?

I heard through the grapevine about a vacancy at PwC Legal within the Mergers, Acquisitions and Contracting team. It matched my study background perfectly so I applied immediately.

Why did you choose this job?

In addition to the fact that the job fits in perfectly with my study background, you have many opportunities at PwC for professional and personal development. PwC is an international organisation characterised by a multidisciplinary approach to advising clients. This multidisciplinary way of working is very instructive and means that no two days are the same.

What is your educational background?

I completed a Bachelor's in Law and a Master's in Private Law (with a specialisation in contract law) at VU University in Amsterdam.

What does your typical working day look like?

Within the Mergers, Acquisitions and Contracting team, your work is very diverse. One day you are performing a due diligence for a merger or acquisition and the next you are assessing or drafting a contract for a major international client. Examples include assessing or drafting purchase agreements, agency or distribution agreements, franchise agreements, general conditions or rental agreements. As PwC is located in more than 100 countries, many of these projects are carried out in cooperation with colleagues from abroad.

What do you like about your work?

The diversity with regard to the work, the organisation and the colleagues. Every day is different, not only because of the work, but also because you collaborate with teams and colleagues with different backgrounds. You learn a great deal from the multidisciplinary way of working, because you work with professionals from other disciplines, such as financial advisors and tax consultants.

Who are you in your free time?

I spend a lot of my free time with friends and family. But I only really relax when I can sit down at the piano and play.

Tell us something about your team, collaboration, colleagues and the open culture at PwC?

Is there room for personal growth and development at PwC?

In addition to the challenging work, there is a lot of focus on professional and personal development. There are various training courses that you can follow and that are well suited to all job levels.

Can you say something about the appreciation and recognition of your work at PwC?

A great deal of attention is paid to your personal development, not only by offering training opportunities, but also by effective daily supervision. You not only receive feedback during the annual appraisals, but also in the interim and after completing assignments. And you always have the opportunity to put forward your own views.

What can you say about the flexibility and work-life balance at PwC?

We work about half the time at the office and the other half from home, all of which is very well organised and facilitated by PwC. A proper work-life balance is always taken into account.Wat zou je tegen je toekomstige collega’s willen zeggen?
