'At PwC I can become the best version of myself'
"My career has really taken off since my thesis internship at PwC. That's what it feels like. From day one, you're part of a diverse team. You get a full role with your own responsibilities, lots of training and your own career coach. I've been working for PwC for six years and am currently Assurance Manager within the business unit of Zuid-Holland. Working for a large organisation like PwC suits me down to the ground. Because of its size and the many different people you meet, it naturally creates a very open atmosphere with room for everyone. It's this diversity that creates a pleasant sense of unity.
" Being a part of The New Equation for me means working together in teams to deliver the best service. And perhaps more importantly, that I am aware of the role we play as accountants. Society must be able to rely on us. It is our job to be critical, even if it is not always pleasant for clients at the time. But when we have completed the process successfully, and asked the right questions, they appreciate it enormously. Then I know we have done the best for our client and for the ultimate client, society."
"The New Equation also means starting the conversation on difficult social issues. PwC's social antenna is very sensitively tuned. The quality agenda is taken seriously within PwC and discussed in a sensitive way. PwC has also responded impressively to developments such as the Black Lives Matter movement. The board took the lead in this debate and set a good example. That gave an impetus to the rest of the organisation to all take an honest look at ourselves."
"Working at PwC sometimes asks a lot of you. You learn to deal with tension, pressure and different kinds of situations. That's how I can become the best version of myself. I want to see how far I can get: senior manager, director or partner - who knows! PwC gives you every opportunity to show what you're made of. To explore and extend your own boundaries. There are also opportunities to build up international experience at a foreign PwC office. I've grown tremendously in recent years. As a professional, but also as a person.
