Chaoran Yang joined PwC directly after her Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Information & Knowledge Management at VU University in Amsterdam. She is a senior consultant in the Technology Consulting team, which is part of Advisory.
"After my studies, I had no idea in which sector or company I wanted to work. As a consultant you go to so many different companies, and that change of scene is ideal. During my studies, I was involved in cases where we had to help a fictitious company with an IT issue. That was extremely interesting to do. Here, I also do projects at the interface of business and IT."
"I have already completed very varied projects, in various sectors: from construction to retail. I saw a different business model each time and every company has its own culture. By doing something completely different each time, you develop and learn very quickly. A different skill set is required wherever you are. I see it as collecting different kinds of tools for the toolbox that's getting bigger all the time."

"For me, teamwork is central, working together with my colleagues and the client on a project-by-project basis. I learn from my colleagues, everyone is there for each other. The atmosphere is very friendly in our team, it feels like a warm bath. New colleagues are introduced and best practices are passed on. I stand for the values of PwC: ‘Work together’ and ‘Care’. I try to live up to that by, for example, giving a little extra attention to a colleague who's not feeling at ease."
"Besides work, I do a lot of sports. I like running, yoga and pilates. I also like to go to the cinema or have dinner with friends. And I like to travel to far destinations, such as America or Asia. If you indicate it on time, you can leave for a period of four or five weeks. I also like to go shopping; my guilty pleasure is watching Keeping Up with The Kardashians."
