Brigitte Bekenkamp

Senior Associate

Can you tell us about yourself briefly?

I am Brigitte, I’ve been working at PwC for two and a half years as a talent acquisition specialist for our Cybersecurity Unit. I live in the centre of Amsterdam, I love art, nature and in my spare time I follow a ceramics course.

"At our Cybersecurity Unit, we work every day to make the world a little safer."

Meet Brigitte. Digital accelerator, socializer, hands-on person, and solver.

How did you end up at PwC and what exactly do you do?

Through my network, I heard several very positive stories about PwC. After a smooth application process and a number of pleasant interviews, I was convinced that PwC matched my standards, values and ambitions. I work as a talent acquisition specialist for our Cybersecurity Unit. I also work on positioning PwC as an attractive STEM employer and try to improve the candidate experience.

What is your educational background?

I started out with Political Science but ended up completing Trade Management Asia, with China as specialisation.

“In addition to recruitment, I am also concerned as a digital accelerator with making our data transparent and usable.”

What does your typical working day look like?

In addition to recruitment, I am also concerned as a digital accelerator with making our data transparent and usable. For example, I have recently been busy creating a recruitment dashboard for all recruiters. In this way, we can see where the bottlenecks lie and where we can improve in order to optimise the candidate experience.

What do you like about your work and what makes it challenging?

At our Cybersecurity Unit, we work every day to make the world a little safer. I really enjoy putting the right people in the right place and in this way being able to contribute to our goal.

"The possibilities are endless here and working for an employer who feels responsible and acts accordingly is great."

What can you say about the flexibility/work-life balance at PwC?

Personally, I prefer to go to the office four days a week, I have to cycle 30 minutes and that gives me time to get going but also to wind down after a working day. On the days that I work at home, I like to alternate my work with sports activities, which is a real luxury. PwC gives its employees so much confidence and that makes me happy!

What would you say to your future colleagues?

Give it a go! The possibilities are endless here and working for an employer who feels responsible and acts accordingly is great.
