Anne Bemelman

So tell us, who are you?

I am Anne, 27 years old and live in Amsterdam. I have been working at PwC as a project coordinator for two and a half years now. In my spare time I am a sports fanatic and a true foodie: I love to go to the market, visit restaurants and work-out.

"What I like most about my job is that we get the space to innovate and work on projects that contribute to sustainable progress."

Meet Anne. An optimist, project coordinator, team player, sports fanatic and solver with PwC Netherlands.

What does The New Equation mean to you personally, i.e. how do you contribute to sustainable progress?

To me, The New Equation means a step in the right direction. Looking for sustainable solutions together, with a fresh perspective. What I like most about my job is that we get the space to innovate and work on projects that contribute to sustainable progress.

What is your educational background?

I completed a University of Applied Sciences degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Marketing & Communications.

What does your typical working day look like?

I usually start quite early, most of the time I am at the office at 8 a.m. After I check my email, I go for a cup of coffee with my colleagues and we catch up on the weekend. As a project coordinator, you cooperate with various audit teams and clients to make the audit process as effective and efficient as possible. My day-to-day activities at our department Project Management Offices, focus on engagement economics and monitoring the team’s progress.

What do you like about your work?

Because I work with different internal audit teams as well as clients, my job is very diverse. Not only in terms of work content but also in terms of cultural diversity.

Tell us something about your team, collaboration, colleagues and the open culture at PwC?

Colleagues in the teams I work with each have very diverse backgrounds. The cultural differences and ages together make for a positive group dynamic in which we learn a lot from each other.

What is still on your bucket list?

Professionally, it would be nice to go on secondment at a PwC office abroad. To experience what it is like to work there and what I can learn from them. I would love to find out. On a personal level, I would like to take a trip somewhere far one day.

What can you say about the flexibility and work-life balance at PwC?

You are in the driver's seat when it comes to work-life balance at PwC. Communicating your own boundaries is very much encouraged, and we also have a special wellbeing program to support this. Every employee's wellbeing is a top priority at PwC. As a wellbeing ambassador myself, I am delighted that PwC invests a lot of time on improving the mental, physical and emotional health of our people.
