What does The New Equation mean to you personally?

I help clients prepare for the future by learning to deal with challenges and changes within their financial roles. In addition, I am on a personal level very consciously working on how I can contribute to the energy transition.

How did you end up at PwC and what exactly do you do?

I was introduced to PwC at a career fair in Belgium. There was an immediate connection during the introductory meeting and it overall felt good. In 2009, I moved to the Netherlands in which PwC arranged my transfer without too much hassle in a few weeks. I still work here ever since.

Why did you choose this position within Tax, Reporting & Strategy?

Tax, Reporting & Strategy is a is very versatile department. We help clients, while at the same time switching quickly with other multidisciplinary teams within PwC Netherlands and beyond.

What is your (educational) background?

I completed a Bachelor’s degree Tax Accountancy in Belgium, followed by a Master's degree in Commercial Sciences during my career at PwC. I am also a Certified Accountant in Belgium and Accountant Administrative consultant in the Netherlands.

What does your working day look like? For example, what kind of issues are you dealing with?

In the morning I never know what the day will bring. Each day is full of challenges which I see as opportunities and learning moments to grow from.

What do you like about your job?

The variety of work in combination with the versatility in types of customers. They all come to me with their own challenges. I can offer help in my own way with the knowledge I have gained during my experience. In this way my knowledge can only grow.

Who are you in your spare time?

A full-time mother and a true family person. In my spare time I find it important to spend enough time with my family, relatives and friends.

What's still on your bucket list?

Maybe one day, to move to an Asian country where the weather is better than here in the Netherlands. Closer to my roots, where my parents are from. Although I was born and raised in Belgium and the Netherlands, I am still Asian in heart and soul.

Tell us something about your team/collaboration/colleagues/the open culture at PwC?

work with young people who are very ambitious and eager to learn. We treat each other as if we are one big family: we are there for each other and help each other when necessary.

Is there room within PwC for personal growth/development?

When I look at myself and what I have learned, (and still learn daily) I can only confirm that PwC is the best learning school there is to develop myself on a professional as well as personal level.

Can you say something about the appreciation/recognition for your work within PwC?

I have been working at PwC for quite some time and what I really appreciate is that I can chart my own course. When looking at what I have achieved, I can only say that my work is really appreciated and recognized. Otherwise, I would not have gotten this far and stayed this long.

Can you name a project that you are proud of (preferably in which you have worked with a diverse, multidisciplinary team)?

During the last year and a half, I only did projects within a multidisciplinary team. You not only work with different teams within PwC, each with their own specialty, but also with other PwC offices abroad. The client views you as one PwC, which is fun because you must act as one team and understand each other well. In this way you learn a lot from each other.

What can you say about the flexibility/work-life balance at PwC?

I recently became a mother myself. I really appreciate the flexibility that PwC offers in organizing your own working hours, as well as the options for parental leave, to achieve an optimal work-life balance.
