Why experimenting with Blockchain?

Blockchain is called the trust disruptor. It builds trust by design. So if this is true, will PwC still need to build trust in society? And what important problems will evolve from this disruptive technology?

Blockchain has the potential to disrupt industries as a whole including our own. Many of us have heard about the Blockchain, we have read articles and followed news updates. Many still question, like we did, what is the real deal? How can Blockchain impact my industry, my business, my profession?

In order to learn about the real impact and true potential, we felt we had to step from watching the technology as a megatrend evolve to experimenting. We built four proof of concepts in the Blockchain, all solving an important problem.

For us it is clear, the question is not if but when Blockchain will disrupt industries as a whole. There is awareness of its potential, but it is not yet widespread. This fuels confusion around its real impact.

We believe that taking an active and leading role in determining the impact of Blockchain is part of our purpose – building trust in society and solving important problems. Simply talking about it is not enough. Therefore, we started experimenting with Blockchain at our own Blockchain Experience Lab at B. Amsterdam.
