The Sustainable Development Goals, which were launched by the UN in 2015, address the most pressing global issues, such as hunger, inequality and climate change. They all call explicitly on the business world and other organizations to contribute.
The SDGs are both in line with our purpose to solve important problems as well as supportive of our ambition to become a purpose-led and values-driven organization.
We are convinced we are most effective and make most impact when we focus. That is the reason we decided to integrate four of the seventeen SDGs in our strategy.
To be able to make the right decision, we analysed all seventeen SDGs and identified nine that are relevant to our firm. After careful consideration we have chosen four SDGs in which we really want to make a difference. These are:
Our ambition is not only to link the SDGs to policies and activities we already have in place. We really want to make extra steps to reduce our negative impact and increase our positive impact. That is why we have formulated an ambition to operate fully circular in 2030. Complete circularity means no emissions, no waste and optimal (re-)use of products and materials. We have developed an indicator to measure our progress and we report on this in our annual review. To evaluate and measure our achievements on the other SDGs, we also have formulated ambitions and developed indicators.
Realization of the SDGs will only succeed when all parties involved work together and take responsibility for the ‘big picture’. That is why we organize events to bring organizations and people together, and to collect knowledge and experiences to spread these further.
Furthermore, we help companies and organizations in various sectors all around the world integrating the chosen SDGs in their strategy and reports.
