Growth factors Dutch social enterprise sector shared internationally

Social enterprises are similar to regular companies and have their own earnings model and product or service. However, these enterprises do not see revenue as an objective, but as a means for solving important societal problems

The Dutch social enterprise sector has grown significantly in the past five years. After a preparatory and pioneering phase, the sector moved into the development phase. PwC researched which factors contributed to this fast growth, leading to the report ‘Building an ecosystem for social entrepreneurship: lessons learned from the Netherlands’. This study will be presented at the annual Social Capital Markets (SOCAP) conference, a three-day international event in San Francisco that brings together social entrepreneurs and impact investors.
