Our specialists will share their broad experience and deep knowledge of REACH with you. They are able to guide you from the REACH strategy setting until the effective implementation of the REACH program within your organization. We conduct our work from a multi-competence perspective. This means that your PwC-team’s REACH expertise will be complemented with – among others – our knowledge of risk management and process design.
What can you expect from PwC?
We offer five different services:
- REACH assessments & audit services: PwC can support with tailored assessments and audits, aimed at analysing product portfolios, REACH implementation statuses and completeness of costs and revenues. We have been supporting internal audit departments but also executed independent external audits.
- REACH Financial management & secretarial support: The complexity of cost sharing under REACH conceals various challenges and risks. We can support you with the set-up and execution of a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory cost sharing process. PwC has helped companies to mitigate the risk of unexpected tax burdens and reduced the risk of potential disputes on data and cost sharing. By ensuring complete proof of costs and revenues, maximum return on investment has been achieved.
- Consortium management services: we have been acting as consortium manager for several REACH consortia. We provide cost effective and coordinated bookkeeping secretarial support and operational management services to enable the consortium to efficiently deliver its tasks.
- REACH Trustee Services: For manufacturers from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) we offer various Only Representative (OR) solutions, e.g. by establishing a legal entity in Europe that acts as an OR. As trusted third party we can secure your confidential business information by acting as your Third Party Representative. Furthermore, PwC developed the OR Trustee model, to enable EEA-importers in indirect supply chains to refer to the registration of the non-EEA manufacturer’s Only Representative. This results in a considerable reduction of direct compliance costs for the indirect customers and prevents their upstream suppliers from disclosing their product composition.
- SVHC services: SVHC’s (Substance of Very High Concern) are subject to the authorization regime of the REACH Regulation. The obligations resulting from a classification as SVHC apply to EEA-manufacturers and -importers of articles as well. PwC supports these, predominantly non-chemical companies to determine the impact of REACH on their organization and business continuity. We help them to react effectively on operational risks that may arise. In addition, PwC carries out so called ‘socio-economic-impact’ studies. These studies quantify and provide insight into the consequences of authorisation (and changing regulation) for the market and community as a whole.
